“The menu is not the meal.”
― Alan W. Watts
I'm a Welshman who grew up in England and was born in Scotland - For argument's sake lets call me Scwinglish or Scwelsh, but it really doesn't matter. We're all just citizens of the third rock from the Sun, where even the brightest of days can have a sting in it's tail and a tale to be told.
My first book entitled 'A River in Egypt: Out of Denial & Into Recovery', is a self help book intended to be both informative and entertaining. It is a short read designed for those in early recovery whose attention spans may be reduced due to withdrawal symptoms. It is also a less intimidating read for those who don't usually turn to literature for guidance.
With it's main focus on alcohol problems the book is a short and to the point guide to the problem of addiction and how to overcome it. Anyone who is either directly or indirectly suffering from a substance misuse issue, health professionals or anyone with an interest or concern in this area are likely to find it useful.
I can't say too much about my film scripts at the moment, production companies like a tight lid until release day, but the work I've done so far has been mostly historical and mostly set in the dark or middle ages. I'm currently getting a little more up to date with a 100% true story of a WWII prisoner of war, which is an honour and a privilege to screenwrite for.
